What is the Marsh scale used for?
Biopsy grade for celiac disease - Type 1 - intraepithelial lymphocytes. Type 2 - IELs and crypt hypoplasia. Type 3 - Type 2 + villous atrophy
What causes hepatotoxicity after acetaminophen ingestion?
reactive metabolite N-acetyl-p-benzoquinon imine (NAPQI) metabolized by P-450 enzymes –> this normally combines with glutathione to turn into a harmless conjugate. If glutathione stores are depleted, the reactive metabolite causes toxicity
What testicular problem is pain relieved with elevation of the testes?
epididymitis - Prehn sign

dermatitis herpetiformis

Type 1: 10-20 years old, ANA and anti-smooth muscle antibodies usually positive
Type 2: younger, more severe, anti-liver kidney microsomal antibody positive

Findings of Behcet disease?
aphthous ulcers, erythema nodosum or pustular eruption, eye findings (uveitis or vasculitis), and pathergy
What GI disorders can you see Erythema nodosum?
behcet (Technically vasculitis), and Crohn disease
What are non-diarrhea symptoms of Crohn disease?
Erythema nodosum, aphthous ulcers, cheilitis, glossitis
