contour and shape of abdomen, pulsations, scarring
bowel sounds in all four quadrants , vascular sounds
light and deep palpation

Closure
return bed to lowest position verify brakes are locked raise appropriate bedrails for safety ensure call bell is available personal belongings, table, water within reach termination with client interaction verbalize documentation of assessment
