General Díospóireacht Flashcards
An Tús
A chathaoirligh, a mholtóirí, a chomh-dhaltaí agus a lucht an fhreasúra.
I am Emer and I am happy to tell you that I am here to talk to you for/against this motion (then name the motion)
Is mise Emer agus tá áthas orm a rá libh go bhfuil anseo chun labhairt libh ar son/in aghaidh an rúin seo (ansin ainmningh an rún)
The other team over there will want to convince you of their opinions with abstract words and a good amount of rubbish, but I advice you not to listen to them
Beidh an dfhoireann tall ag iarraidh a gcuid tuairimí a chur ina luí oraibh le focail teibí agus roinnt mhaith ráiméas, ach molaim daoibh an cluas bodhar a thabhairt orthu
Anyway, I am for/against the motion because of prominent reasons and I will present to you some of those immediately
Ar aon nós, tá mise ar son/in aghaidh an rúin ar chúiseanna suntasacha agus cuirfidh mé roinnt dóibh siúd os bhur gcomhair láithreach
Firstly
Ar an gcéad dul síos
Not only that but
Ní amháin in ach
More important that any other thing
Níos tábhachtaí ná rud ar bith eile
We have to think about
Tá orainn smaoineamh ar
As a final word
Mar fhocal scoir
And finally, ladies and gentlemen and the members of the other team, I’ve nearly come to the end of my talking on this motion
Agus faoi dheireadh a dhaoine uaisle agus a bhaill na foirne eile, táim beagnach tagtha go deireadh mo chuid cainte ar an rún seo
Right and strong are not the same thing, but I believe that I am right when I say that (motion)
Ní h-ionann ceart agus neart ach creidin go bhfuil ceart ar mo thaobhsa nuair a deirim go/nach (rún)
To put an end to my speaking I would love to thank you all for kindly listening to me
Chun deireadh a chur le mi chuid cainte, ba mhian liom mo buíochas a gabháil libh as an éisteacht cineálta a thug sibh dom
That God rewards you, and thank you very much
Go gcúití Dia sibh agus go raibh míle maith agaibh
