Q

What are the inheritance patterns?

A
  1. If the mum has a functional gene and the dad has a change e.g T insted of G to will cause lose of function e.g because of this the red blood cell has a cresent shape and the child will be carrier of the disease
  2. If both parent have that change in the code then the child will have the disease.

Q

What happens in the autosome dominant inheritance?

A
  1. If the mum genes is functional and the dads gene has a gain of function gene coding, the child will have the disease because it is more dominant that the mum functional gene.

Q

What hapens in sex-linked disease?

A
  1. If the dads x gene has a mutation and the mum gene is functional the daughter will have the gene and the son will not have it or be a carrier.
  2. This is because the Y in the XY chromosome doesnt hold anything so it does not matter.
