Q

What is in the inner and outer layer?

A

The inner layer has lamines which help with the structure of the nuclear envolope
The outer layer contains many ribosomes.

Q

What does the rough ER have and what are its functions?

A

The rough ER has ribosomes
1. Site of protein synthesis(Lyosomes or excreted)
2. Protein folding
3. Glycosylation (Sugar residue).

Q

What does the smooth ER not have and what are its functions?

A

The smooth ER doesnt have ribosomes
1.Sites of lipid synthesis- (Fatty acids, phosholipids and cholestrol)
2.Bioformation - Enzymes called the cyp450 which are in the liver break down drugs, toxins and alcohol
3.Glucose 6 phosphate - converts to glucose by an enzyme taking it in and another enzmes cutting of the 6 phosphate
4.Store calcium - used from bodily functions such as muscle contractions.

Q

What are the functions of golgi appartus

A
  1. Recieve vesicles from RER and SER
  2. Modification- sugar residue type o and phosolyation
  3. Packs the vesicles to become lysomes or excreted.

Q

What is Cell membrane and what are the functions?

A
  1. The head is made from phosolipids and they are hydrofilic due to their negative charge & The tail is made from fatty acids and they are hydrophobic
  2. Barrier- ions in and out the cells through diffusion
  3. Cholestrol - more Cholestrol less space
  4. 2 proteins

Q

What are the functions of the Lysomes?

A
  1. Contain hydrocytic enzymes that break down protein, carbs ,nucleus and lipids (Proteases)
  2. Autophag the proteases and nuceleases break down the ribosomes as it is made from protein and RNA
  3. Autolysis- burst the cells

Q

What are the functions for ribosomes?

A

1.They take mRNA and tRNA to make proteins
2.Cytosolic ribosomes - which move freely that make little enzymes .
