Cell signalling Flashcards
1
Q
How do cell signal via direct contact?
A
- Cells communicate with a neighbouring cell which has gap junction to move molecules through causing a reaction/ response.
2
Q
A
- Cells floating in the bloodstream with surface proteins that bind to one anoher leading to a change and a response
3
Q
How does paracrine work
A
- Cells have molecules which are in vesicles and merge with the memebrane to be released
- The molecules will then go to a cell with the right receptor and a response will take place.
4
Q
How does the endocrine signal work?
A
1.Molecules go from the cell through the bloodstream into another cell with the right receptor
5
Q
How does autocrine signal work?
A
- Molecules released from a cell and that same cell has the receptor the molecules will bind to
