Define “Urbanisation”
A process where an increasing proportion of the population lives in towns and cities resulting in their growth
Define “rural”
A place where people live on farms and in small villages.
Define “urban”
A built up area, such as a town or city.
Define “CBD”
The centre of a city where shops + offices are located
Define “counter urbanisation”
Migration away from a city due to an urban problem (e.g. crime, traffic congestion)
Define “de-industrialisation”
a city with a declining economy with high levels of un-employment
Define “formal employment”
Work agreed in a contract, with regular, taxed income and safe working conditions
Define “informal employment”
Work with a small, untaxed wage, usually unsafe working conditions
Define “international migration”
The movement of people between countries, for work or long term residence.

A city with a population of 10 million + people

The total number of people entering minus the the number of people leaving the country

The amount of people per square area of land.

Reasons why a person may be attracted towards living in a city

Reasons why a person my feel they need to move away from a rural area
