FW Flashcards
State when AC oil pumps for the MFP auto start
195# in the 200# header
State when the DC oil pump for the MFP auto start
40# in the 55# header
Discuss how speed in the MFP is controlled
DP between PT-507 and 508 is measured and compared to programmed value
as power increases Speed increases and vice versa
Max DP is 135 psid at 100% load
State how Feed pumps respond to a RX trip
B P-4 signal causes MFPs to slow to 4400RPM
State the FWI signals
LO Tave (557F 2/4) with a Rx trip
Any SI signal
SG level high (90.8% 2/4 in any 1 SG) (P-14)
State LEFM restriction per TR
LEFM must be in Ultrasonic Mode to operate above 3578 MWt
State MFP trips
P-14, SG high-high >90.8% SI FWI - P-4 with Tave <557% High feed pump discharge pressure - 1635 2/3 Low suction pressure 220# - A MFP - 6 seconds - B MFP - 12 Seconds Low condenser vacuum - 18.5" HgV Primary Overspeed Emergency Overspeed Loss of 2/3 speed sensors Manual Axial Thrust position Low Turbine Bearing oil pressure Low Pump Bearing Oil pressure Low Oil Header pressure
State auto start of SUFP
Both SGFPs tripped AND Prelube pump CS in auto No A train SI NO SG high-high level 8# discharge pressure on prelube pump will start SUFP
Discuss how MFP control valves respond as power increass
LP valves open first then HP valves
Power is too low for LP steam to run turbine so HP steam controls turbine
As power increases HP valve goes shut do to LP side picking up load
State what must occur if SG temp is <70F and pressure is >200# T.S. 3.7.2
within 30 minutes reduce pressure to less than 200# and perform an engineering evaluation.
Discuss how Speed is controlled for the MFPs
o Speed control maintains DP between feed header, PT-508, and steam header, PT-507
o DP is controlled at 80 psid from 0-20% power, DP is then ramped to 135 psid from 20-100%
