NO tests needed! Abdominal pain >3days/month over 3 months or 2 of following: improvement w/ defectation, change in frequency, change in form of stool

signs a patient has moderate symptoms

therapy for IBS
antispasmodics, psychological therapy, probiotics, Anti-depressants, not fiber
key component to treating IBS
good pt-dr relationship. Also, communicate to patient that trial and error in treatment may be necessary
