Fuel System Flashcards
Using the cross flow valve, how is a fuel balance problem corrected?
By opening the cross flow valve and turning off the fuel pumps on the light wing
When must fuel balancing be done using the inter tank valve?
When the tank temp is less than 0°C
What is the maximum fuel imbalance
1000lbs for take off
2000lbs in flight and refueling
What are the correct indications during fuel quantity indicator test?
Left- 7000LBS
Right 7000LBS
Total 14000LBS
And an amber L-R FUEL LEVEL LOW CAS message
Where is the fuel hooper located?
Inboard Portion of each wing tank
How much fuel is in the hopper?
190 US gallons or approximately 1283 LBS
How much fuel is remaining in the hopper when the amber LR FUEL LEVEL LOW CAS message appears?
Approximately 650 LBS
What is the function of the pressure fueling static port located under each wing?
It provides a reference pressure to prevent over pressurization of the wing during fueling operations
How are the main fuel shutoff valves checked during preflight walk around?
Verify that the valves are open by physically checking that the red valve position indicator is approximately the 7 o clock position
What is the maximum standard fuel load?
Can that ever be exceeded?
41300 LBS, however, more fuel can be added so long as the max ramp weights are not exceeded
If a main fuel boost pump should fail, will the alternate fuel boost pump automatically come on, if selected off?
No, there is no auto change feature
Which part of the fuel system will be available when powering the aircraft with the HMG only?
Left and right main boost pumps, cross flow and inter tank valve
If the RED light on the refueling door illuminates during refueling, what does this mean and what should be done?
The fuel has reached the plenum and you should shut off fueling
The engines could run without the boost pump pressure up to what maximum altitude?
Less than 20000ft
With the heated fuel return system (HFRS) switch selected to AUTO, when does the system automatically turn on?
When either tank temperature decreases to 0°C or below
