Fuel Flashcards

1
Q

What is the role of the A320 fuel system?

A

6 parts

Store fuel (in wings)

Supply fuel to engines and APU

Supply fuel in correct quantity to tanks during refuelling

Circulate fuel to cool IDG

Control transfer of fuel (from centre to wing inner)

Keep fuel in outer wing tanks for wing bending and flutter relief

16
Q

When does the centre tank feed the inner wing tanks?

A

Once 500kgs is used

17
Q

At what fuel weight do the transfer valves open?

A

When either inner wing tank reaches approx 750kgs BOTH valves open to maintain fuel balance

Controlled by the FLSCUs Fuel Level Sensing Control Units

18
Q

When will the fuel quantity flash green?

A

At an imbalance of 1500kgs

19
Q

When does the ECAM FUEL USED ind reset?

A

At engine start (on the ground only)

20
Q

To cross feed fuel which pumps need to be off?

A

The low tank pumps

21
Q

During a fuel imbalance which side flashes?

A

The tank with most fuel flashes green

22
Q

Total usable fuel

A

24,209 litres

23
Q

When will the centre tank indication be boxed in amber?

A

If both centre tank transfer valves have failed closed or are turned off

(Might refer to valves as pumps for 20C)

24
Q

What will indicate the IDG oil outlet is overheating?

A

IDG 1/2 FAULT in AMBER

25
Q

What does ECAM
“L+R WING TK LO LVL” indicate?

A

Fuel qty remaining is 1500kgs
