Med ruby
Med intensity with aromas of red fruit (strawberry, red plum, red cherry), herbaceous (grass, tomato leaf), oak (charred wood, clove), tertiary (leather, tobacco), blue cheese; ripe fruit (just) character, not a lot of concentration of aromas; however, it shows some varietal definition.
Dry, med(+) acid, med tannins (firm and lightly stalky), med alc, med body, med intensity, med(-) finish; aromas mirror nose, with fruitiness less evident.
Good wine, not suitable for furthe ageing.
Domaine is situated on the left bank of the Dorgogne river.
Grapes are sourced from the right bank of of the Gironde; producer only says the vineyard overlooks Blaye, so grapes could have come form Blaye Cotes de Bordeuax or from Cotes de Bourg

pronounced intensity
black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, black plum, black cherry), floral (violet, lavender), charred wood, smoke, toast, vanilla, mint, dark chocolate, coffee, tobacco.
Dry, medium (+) acidity, high tannins (ripe, soft and silky), medium (+) body, pronounced flavours mirroring the aromas, long evolving finish with notes of blackfruits, vanilla and leather persisting till the end. Excellent fruit concentration and definition.
Chateau Ormes de Pez
The chateau exists since the 18th century and was bought by Jean-Michel Cazes after WWII, who also owns Lynch-Bages
57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot
Hand harvested and sorted at the vineyard
Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, with 45% new oak

blackfruits (blackcurrant, blackberries, dark cherries), red fruit (plum, raspberries), floral (violet), oak (vanilla, cedar, toast, charred wood, chocolate, coffee), terciary (leather, tobacco, cooked plum), bonfire, earthy, dried herbs (fennel, dill, basil), mint.
Dry, medium (+) acidity, high alcohol, medium (+) tannins (chalky and fine grained), pronounced intensity, flavour that mirror the nose with a long, savoury finish.
80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot
Elevage in 50% new French oak
