What is compartment syndrome?

A

High pressure within a closed fascial space which reduces capillary blood supply so that there is an insufficient level to support tissue –> tissue death

Early: passive stretch pain

A

What is Colles fracture?

A

A fracture of the distal radius, commonly seen in the elderly and sustained by falling onto an outstretched hand.

NB - in children this is called a Greenstick fracture
