Transitive verb
The action indicates a receiver. He plays the piano
Intransitive verbs

Verb tense

Present perfect verb tenses
Started in the past and continues into the present or took place previously at an unspecified time. I have walked
Past perfect verb tense
Second action happened in the past first action came before the second. Before I walked to the store I had walked to the library
Future perfect verb tense
Action uses past and future. When she comes for supplies I will have walked to the store.
Indicative mood
Used for facts opinions and questions. You can do this, I think that you can do this, do you know that you can do this
Imperative mood
Used for orders or requests. You are going to do this will you do this for me
Subjunctive mood
Wished and statements that go against fact. I wish that I were famous. If I were you I would do this
Articles
Adjectives that are used to distinguish nouns as definite or indefinite.
Definite nouns
Preceded by the article the and indicate a specific person place thing or idea. I lost the bottle that belongs to me
Indefinite nouns
Preceded by a or an and do not indicate a specific person place thing or idea. Does anyone have a bottle to share
Positive degree
Normal form of an adjective. This work is difficult
Superlative degree
Compares more that two people or things. This is the most difficult work of my life.
Conjunctions
Join words phrases or clauses and they show the connection between the joined pieces.
Coordinating conjunctions
Connect equal parts of sentences. The rock was small but it was heavy
Correlative conjunctions
Show the connection between pairs. Either you are coming or you are staying
Subordinating conjunctions
Join subordinate clauses with independent clauses. I am hungry because i did not eat breakfast.
