Place sample in water Ad drops of Benedictus solution Heat to near boiling point BLUE->COLOURED PRECIPITATE (Green/yellow/orange/brick red)

How does the biuret test work?
Place sample in water
Add equal volume of biuret A (sodium hydroxide/potassium)
Add a few drops of biuret B (copper sulphate)
BLUE->LILAC

Add a few drops of the sample to test tubeAdd ethanol
Add identical amount of distiller water
COLOURLESS->WHITE LAYER

Add DCPIP to sample
