What do you use to test for starch
A
Test with iodine (orangey brownie colour)
If starch is present it will turn blue black colour

What do you use to test for sugars and how do u test for it
A
Use benedicts solution
- add that into a boiling tube
- put tube into water bath
- heat it up
If sugar is present the colour should become redish

How and what do you use to test for fats
A
- Add some ethanol+water(colourless)
- shake the solution and mix it
- if fats are present solution should turn cloudy

How and what do you use to test for proteins
A
- you use biurets reagent (light blue)
- add to food substance
- If protein is present it should turn into a pinky purpley colour
