this is when an individual holds the position while keeping the body still for a fixed amount of time (5-10s)
This is good as it is straightforward and safe

static active - when a person performs a stretch independently by applying internal force to stretch

static passive - when a person has an assistant when steching, this helps apply an external force causing the muscle to stretch.
