Egg
• Shape: oval and elongated
• Does not have a cephalic cone
• Ceca: unbranched
• Testes: two, dendritic
Adult Worm
• Inflammation and ulceration occur at site of worm attachment
• Gland abscess: occasionally formed in the mucosa
• Heavy infections: worms cause intestinal obstruction
• Symptoms: generalized toxic and allergic symptoms: edema of the face, abdominal wall, and lower limbs
