- Cefotaxime 100 mg/kg IV

What tx do you give for HSV suspected neonates?
-Acyclovir 20mg/kg IV
What is considered a young infant?
1-2 months
What medication is given to a young infant patient if a lumbar puncture was performed and the infant is still febrile?
-Ceftriaxone 50mg/kg IV or IM
If there is a young infant with an abnormal lab result who appears very ill–what should you do?
- hospitalize the infant
- put on antibiotics (Ceftriaxone 50mg/kg)
What is the gold standard for Occult bacteremia in a 3-36 month old infant?
blood culture
A 15 month old infant has a WBC greater than 15,000/mm3 and a fever of 102.4F. Her blood culture has come back with growth. What tx should you give her?
-Cefriaxone 50mg/kg IM
A 15 month old girl has a UTI, how should you target her tx?
-should be directed towards E. coli
A 15 month old girl is diagnosed with pneumonia, what should you tx with?
Nothing, most are viral

-Amoxicillin 90mg/kd divided into 2 daily doses (it is effective against S. Pneumo)

- vancomycin
