Explain the relative importance of extrinsic and intrinsic feedback for a group of beginner swimmers [6]
Importance of extrinsic feedback is greater, as beginners will have little knowledge of how to perform skills so extrinsic feedback FROM A COACH/PRO will give them the basic knowledge they REQUIRE to develop skills and technique, as well as motivate them.
The importance of intrinsic feedback is lesser, as a beginner would not be able to use intrinsic feedback since they LACK the basic and essential knowledge of swimming skills and techniques which would be needed to self assess and correct their performance. A beginner would not know how to differentiate between whether an action is being performed correctly or not
Explain 2 disadvantages of verbal guidance on an U10s football team
Terminology may be too complicated/technical - and the children might not understand/process info
Possible information overload - children may miss some of the points made
Potentially boring - young children may have a short attention span
