What is Intrinsic feedback
Sporting example
Comes from within the body is known as or kinaesthetic feedback.
Eg. A footballer can feel the ball being struck and is able to know if the shot is good or bad.
What is extrinsic feedback
Sporting example
Feedback from an outside source.
Eg. Tactical advice from the coach, telling a footballer not to hold on to the ball for too long before passing.
What is positive feedback
Sporting example
Information about correct technique given to encourage and motivate the player.
Eg. A coach in football praising a player for scoring a penalty.
What is negative feedback
Sporting example
Information about incorrect technique given to eliminate errors.
Eg. A footballer being told by a team-mate that a pass was too slow.
What is knowledge of results
Sporting example
Information about the outcome of a performance.
Eg. A footballer noting that a shot has just missed the goal.
What is knowledge of performance
Sporting example
Information that concerns the quality of a performance.
Eg. A footballer being told why the shot missed the goal.
