Associated with febrile illness not caused by CNS infec. More link to rapid rise in temp than high temp itself.
No neonatal or previous unprovoked seizures
Not meet criteria for acute symptomatic seizures
Usually tonic clonic
Usually under 15 min
Rapid complete recovery, no post ictal

Recurrence 30-40%

A

Onset under 18 mnth
Febrile seiz in 1st degree relative
Relative low grade fever assoc with fever (under 38)
Short duration of fever bef seizure (under 1hr)
Multiple seiz during same illness
