Also called the Battle Sharpsburg and occurred September 17, 1862, at Antietam Creek near Sharpsburg, Maryland. It pitted Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s Army of Northern Virginia against Union General George McClellan’s Army of the Potomac. It remains the deadliest one day-battle in American history.
Battle of Antietam
A battle fought in 1863 and it was a union victory that stopped general Robert E. Lee’s second invasion of the North. More than 50,000 men died in the 3-day battle and it was the bloodiest battle of American history
Battle of Gettysburg
This battle took place on June 17, 1775, just a few months after the start of the American Revolutionary War. Boston was being besieged by thousands of American militia. The British were trying to keep control of the city and control its valuable seaport.
Battle of Bunker Hill
Was the start of the Revolutionary war on April 19, 1775. The British Army set out from Boston to capture rebel leaders Samuel Adams and John Hancock in Lexington as well as to destroy the Americans store of weapons and ammunition in Concord.
