An invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton, a segmented body, and paired jointed appendages.
Arthropod
A segmented worms such as earthworms, leeches, roundworms, etc.
Annelid
Containing over 9,000 species found only in aquatic and mostly marine environments. They have tentacles with stinging cells in their tips which are used to capture and subdue prey.
Cnidaria
Includes organisms suhc as snails, octopuses, squid, clams, scallops, oysters, and chitons. Their body is soft and unsegmented.
Mollusca
Any of a variety of invertebrate marine animals characterized by a hard, spiny covering or skin.
Echinoderm
Invertebrate animals comprising of sponges. They have a cellular grade of construction with no tissue or organ formation.
Porifera
Bilaterally symmetrical animals. Their left and right sides are mirror images of each other they also have distinct top and bottom surfaces and distinct head and tail ends.
Platyhelminthes
A large phylum of worms with slender, unsegmented, cylindrical bodies, including the roundworms, threadworms, and eelworms
Nematoda
Possess a notochord, a dorsal nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, an endostyle, and a post-anal tail.
