Hyoid
āuā shaped bone, located in the neck, just below the mandible.

Special Bones
Bones that are neither cranial nor facial. The bone of the middle ear. Located within the temporal bone
Cranial Fossae
Internal Cranium - resemble the shape of the brain
Sinuses
Hollow spaces inside the bone, lined with mucous membrane, drain into the nasal cavity. Found in the frontal, sphenoid, ethmoid, and maxillary bones
Mandible
jaw, only moveable bone of the skull
zygomatic bone
form the cheekbones and lateral aspect of the eye socket.
Vomer
forms the interior portion of the nasal septum. Connects to the perpendicular plate of ethmoid, maxillae, and palatine bone
Inferior Nasal Conchae
visible through nasal opening
Nasal Conchae
Articulate with the maxillae, has a vascular membrane that moistens and cleans air as it is inhaled. Superior and middle conchae are part of the ethmoid bone
palatine bones
joins with palatine process of maxillae, contemplates the hard palate. Posterior part
lacrimal bones
small, bone, lateral wall of nasal cavity, medial medial surface orbits. Lacrimal duct for collecting tears, drains into nasal cavity
Nasal Bones
size of a fingernail, forms the bridge of the nose, different sizes, oblong shape
Maxillae
articulates with every other facial bone except the mandible. forms lateral surface of nose and inferior part of the orbit

Maxillae (2), Nasal (2), lacrimal (2), palatine (2) inferior nasal conchae (2), vomer, zygomatic (2) and mandible
