What are the two types of finishings?
Mechanical and chemical.

What is brushing/raising? And how is it done?
Soft fluffy handle and warm due to increase in volume of enclosed air.
Fine wire rollers rotate and hulk into the fabric.
What is calendaring? And how is it achieved?
Gives the product a smooth surface, compacts the fabric, improves lustre and embosses pattern.
This is done by passing through pressure rollers.
Why are finishes used?
To make sure the product is more reliable and safe. As they can be quite expensive, it’s important to make sure it is worth the money spent.
