Blephilitis
Inflammation of eyelid causes by s aureus or seborrheic dermatitis
Hordeolum (stye)
Infection of sebaceous glands of eyelid
Chalazion
Non infectious lipogranuloma of the Meibomian (oil secreting) gland.
Often occurs when hordelum
Does atopic keratoconjutivitis vary with season?
No seasonal variations.
Uncommon
Occur late teens-50yrs
With atopic disease- asthma, dermatitis, rhinitis
Vernal karatoconjunctivitis is seasonal true or false

What are symptoms of blepharitis?
Burning, stinging itching
Foreign body sensation
What are signs of blepharitis
Scale/collarettes at base of lash
Lash misdirection (Trichiasis)
Edema of lid margins
Cause of Blepharitis
Anterior:affects the skin, cilia follicles and/or accessory glands of thr eye
- seborrheic
-bacterial
Posterior; involves keratin blockage, inflammation and/or infection of Meibomian glands
- Meibomian gland dysfunction
- Rosacea
What’s the non p pharmacological treatment of blepharitis
Warm compress 10-15mins Bid
Lid hygiene
Avoidance
Infection control
Meibomian gland expression
Difference between hordeolum and chalazion
Hordeon is affect follicle or gland, etiology is inflammation and it’s tender
While chalazion affect gland, cause is obstruction and it’s not tender
What the treatment of chalazion?
Warm compress 10-15mins BID
Incision and curettage if persistent chalazion
Refer I’d lasting 1-2 months
