Superior vena cava (collects blood from the upper half of the body)/ Inferior vena cava (collects blood from the lower half of the body)–> right atrium–> [tricuspid valve]–> right ventricle–> [pulmonary valve]–> pulmonary trunk–> pulmonary artery–> [lungs]–> pulmonary veins–> left atrium –> [bicuspid valve]–> left ventricle –> [aortic valve]–> aorta
The aorta is the main artery of the heart. It receives all of the blood that the heart pumps out and distributes it to the entire body.
