Q

Heterocycle

A

A heterocycle is any ring compound where at least one of the atoms in the ring is not carbon. This “non-carbon” atom is called a heteroatom and is often oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), or sulfur (S). Heterocycles can be either saturated (no double bonds) or unsaturated (having double bonds).
