General Adaptation System (GAS)
vague sense of impending doom or apprehension precipitated by new and unknown experiences
Anxiety
behaviors exhibited as the result of prolonged occupational stress
Burnout
a feeling of dread; a cognitive response to a known threat
Fear
ANS initiates this to prepare body for fight or flight response to either fight off the stressor or run away from it
Fight or Flight Response
a localized response of the body to stress; involves only a specific body part (such as tissue or organ) instead of whole body

Stage of illness where you achieve recovery and rehabilitation; may begin at hospital and conclude at home, most pts finish this stage at home, pt gives up dependent role and resumes normal activities and responsibilities
