  • Burn patients, spread to underlying tissue, necrosis
  • Does not often develope into disseminated disease
  • Fatality rate 16%

  • Common site of infection: brain
  • Abscess formation, infarction

  • Keratitis, allergy and hypersensitivity
  • Rapid growth 4 days, greenish blue with white edges
  • Branched or unbranched conidiophores - bear metula
  • Metulae - part of conidiophore, supports philaide
  • Phialides
  • Conidia: in chains “Paintbrush or skeleton hand”
