Conflicts of Interest
Situations in which a person or organization may benefit from undue influence due to invlovement in outside activities, relationships, or investments that conflict with or have an impact on the employment relationship or its outcomes.
Bribery
The exchange of anything of value to gain greater influence or preference.
Confidentiality
The treatment of personal information that has been disclosed to another person. Maintaining Confidentiality is the agreement to not share or make public that information.

What Does A Code of Conduct Do?
- Helps an organization promote ethical behavior
- Communicate organization commitments internally

Reflect a commitment to truthfulness and fairness, abiding by social and business norms.
*In business, honesty requires an avoidance of conflict of interest and the use of bribery.
Authenticity
Refers to persons ability to stay true to values and maintain integrity in both personal and professional lives
*If people in your orgz believe you are authentic they will believe what you say
Investigation Steps/Elements
- Investigator: should be experienced, neutral, and objective
- Investigation: all parties should be interviewed
- Documentation: document objective facts, avoid opinions, thorough investigation
- Confidentiality: do not share personal info especially for misconduct investigation
- Credibility: investigator must assess the credibility of all parties
- Conclusions: findings are presented in confidential written report
