Basic Trust Versus Basic Mistrust.

  • Establishes a senses of trust with self and primary care giver
  • Important relationship is mother
  • opportunity child gains a sense of hope which lay the foundation for the development of faith
  • Danger can become mistrusting toward others which can lead to obstacles to growth

Autonomy Versus Shame and Doubt.
- Child becomes more independent due do increase in mental and physicals capabilities
-Opportunity child is able to exercise their free will, gaining a sense of autonomy and Will
-Danger child could establish a sense of shame, fearing their deficiencies are visible to others
OR
Doubt, fear of the unknown or the unexplored
