Q

Explain compeptive inhibtors

A

1 active site, 2 substrtaes both substrates fit into the active site so it comperes for the AS substrate 1 is simialr to S2

If the inhibtor goes into the AS it forms a physhical barrier it prevents the eznyme substrate complex

Often reversible

Q

What is a non compeptive inhibitor

A

They inhibtor enzyme binds to a diffrent part of the enzyme (allerosteric site)

Binding of the NCI causes a conformational change in the enzyme

This changes shape of the enzyme AS so that it is non complemntary its substarte

Inhibtor binds permantly
