Colloquial language
A word or expression that was used in a certain historical time or place.
Closed

A set of words or forms (such as pronouns or verb forms) that refer to the person that the speaker or writer is addressing.
Ex. You
Third person
A set of words or forms (such as pronouns or verb forms) that refer to people or things that the speaker or writer is not addressing directly.
Ex. He, She, It
Plot
The main events in a story that are lined in a sequence.
Close reading
An approach to teaching comprehension that insists students extract meaning from text by examining carefully how language is used in the passage itself
