parallelism
A device which consists of phrases or sentences of similar construction and meaning places side by side, balancing each other.
archetype
a very typical example of a certain person or thing, an original that has been
imitated or a recurrent symbol or motif in literature, art, or mythology.

resemblance in the sounds of words between the vowels (meat, beats) or between their constants (keep, cape)

hint of what is to come in a literary work

phrase that consists of two words that are contradictory
Setting
refers to the time and place in which a story takes place.
Paradox
Two contrasting ideas, placed side-by-side (less is more)

A way of communicating information (in writing, images, or sound) that conveys an attitude

An object, image, character or action that stands for an idea that goes beyond its literal meaning

short tale narrating an interesting or amusing biographical incident

deliberate use of harsh and awkward sounds

Quote set at the beginning of a literary work or at its divisions to set the tone or suggest a theme.
