What type of oil system do we have?
Self-contained, pressurized, recirculating dry sump system
What are the oil system components? (7)
Oil tank Supply and Scavenge system Filter and condition monitoring system Air/Oil Cooler (aka Scroll Vanes) Fuel/Oil Cooler Chip detector Pressure and Temp indicators
How does supply oil flow?
Oil is picked up by the engine drive oil pump, pressurized, through the filter to the 6 main sump bearings in engine
How many sets of jets are there and why?
2 sets for cooling and lube and provide for redundancy if their is a malfunction or damage
How does scavenge oil flow?
Oil flows through pump inlet, chip detector, fuel/oil cooler, main frame, scroll vanes, back to oil tank
1/#2 OIL FLTR BYPASS
means oil is bypassing the filter
What type of oil filter is it?
disposable filter element that has a PDI that include a thermal lockout at 38 C for cold starts
ENG OIL PRESS LOW / ENG OIL PRESS HI
sensors send signal to VIDS for cockpit display
