Military Formal Complaints
Formally presents complaints to EO office
Not longer than 60 days after w\out CC approval
Civilian Informal Complaints
AF employees, former employees and applicants who meet criteria in 29 CFR Part 1614 may file
must be submitted within 45 days
Civilian Formal Complaints
Must be filed at offense location, Must sign and date it.
Reprisal Prevention
Anytime opportunity occurs ensure personnel understand reprisal and consequences involved
Reprisal detection
When reprisal is detected after EO complaint process
Type I UCA
Most comprehensive - includes everything
Type II UCA
Does not include individual interviews or focus groups
Type III UCA
Includes Interviews only and written report
Command Referral
CC will refer when substance abuse when substance abuse is suspected in misconduct
Medical Referral
Medical must notify CC and ADAPT when member: has substance abuse incident
Limited Privileged Suicide Program
Identify and treat AF members who have suicide risk because of UCMJ action
Hand-Off Policy
After being investigated Airmen are handed off to their 1st Shirt, CC, Direct Supervisor, Etc…
Sex assault Immediate Response (3 steps)
- Safety and well being
- Prepare for ongoing support
- Support through recovery
SARC restricted reports
Closed and CC’s \Cops not notified
SARC unrestricted Reports
Open and include CC and law enforcement to prosecute perp.
