“FIRE”
GROUND
- Execute Emergency Shutdown/Egress
TAKEOFF
If decision is made to stop:
- Abort
If fire is confirmed and unable to abort:
- Eject
IN FLIGHT
- Throttle - Minimum for safe flight
- Secondary indications - Check
If secondary indications exist or fire confirmed:
- Eject
If fire not confirmed and control effectiveness remains:
- Land as soon as possible

Execute clear engine procedure:
- Throttle - OFF

- FUEL SHUTOFF handle - Down
- GTS - Start

- ENGINE switch - START

Brake Failure - Ashore
If flyaway airspeed is available:
- Go-around
If flyaway airspeed not available, or during taxi:
- Throttle - Idle
- Brakes - Release
- Anti-skid switch - OFF
- Attempt braking
If brakes still unavailable:
- Hook - Down (if required)
- Parking brake handle - PULL (if required)

Loss of Directional Control
- Rudder - As required to counter swerve
If flyaway airspeed available:
- Go-around
If flyaway airspeed not available:

If blown tire suspected
- Brakes - Release
- Anti-skid switch - OFF prior to braking
If airborne:
- Gear and Flaps - Do not reposition

- Eject

- Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - PULL
- Throttle - OFF
Simultaneously perform steps 3 and 4:
- GTS start button - Press and hold
- Throttle - Idle

Below 25,000’ MSL, min 13% N2 rpm (recommended min 250 KIAS)
- Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - Pull
- Throttle - OFF
Simultaneously perform steps
- GTS start button - Press and hold
- Throttle - Idle

Airstart (Assisted)
Below 15,000’ MSL, 165 to 250 KIAS:
- Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - PULL
- Throttle - OFF
- GTS - Start
When RPM drops below 20% N2 and GTS advisory light illuminates:
- ENGINE switch - Start
- Throttle - Idle

Compressor stall or EGT/RPM warning light
INFLIGHT
Simultaneously perform steps 1 and 2:
- Throttle - Minimum for safe flight
- Controls - Neutralize
- EGT/RPM - Monitor
If EGT is greater than 450 C for more than 6 seconds after throttle IDLE:
- Execute Airstart

Electrical Fire
- GEN switch - OFF

- Altitude - Descend below 18,000’ (if practical)
- AIR FLOW knob - OFF
If unable to clear smoke or unable to see:
- Airspeed - Reduced (as practical)
- Warn other cockpit occupant/secure loose items.
- Seat - Lower
- MDC firing handle - PULL

Hypoxia/OBOGS contamination
If hypoxic symptoms are evident and/or suspected, proceed as follows:
- Emergency oxygen green ring(s) - Pull
- OBOGS FLOW selector(s) - OFF
- Initiate rapid descent to below 10,000’ MSL or minimum safe altitude

Total Electrical Failure
- Emergency Oxygen green ring(s) - PULL

Uncommanded Roll/Yaw
- Flaps/Slats lever - Return to previous setting

Departure/Spin
- Controls - Neutralize/Forcibly center rudder pedals
- Speed brakes - retract
- Throttle - Idle
- Check altitude, AOA, airspeed, and turn needle
If spin confirmed:
Inverted (AOA pegged at 0 units):
- Rudder pedal - Full opposite turn needle
- Lateral stick - Full opposite turn needle
- Longitudinal stick - Neutralize
Upright (AOA above 28 units):
- Rudder pedal - Full opposite turn needle
- Lateral stick - Full with turn needle
- Longitudinal stick - neutralize
If recovery indicated or airspeed increasing through 160 KIAS:
- Lateral stick - Neutralize
When recovery indicated:
- Rudder pedals - Smoothly center
If out of control passing 10,000’ AGL
- Eject
