Why do you get a RED FAULT light in the RAT and EMER GEN light?

A

AC BUS 1 and 2 are not powered and the Emergency Generator is not supplying elec power.

When might a red FAULT light be normal in the RAT and EMER GEN light?

A

You can expect the light for approx 8 sec while RAT deploys before it begins generating power

How can the RAT be deployed?

A

Automatically- If AC BUS 1 and 2 are lost in flight.

Manually by pressing the MAN ON pb on the EMER ELEC PWR panel or RAT MAN ON pb on the HYD Panel

What is the difference in the RAT deploying from the HYD panel vs deploying from the EMER ELEC PWR Panel / Automatically When AC BUS 1 and 2 aren’t powered?

A

If the RAT MAN ON pb is pressed on the HYD Panel it will not automatically generate electricity.

A

A

The RAT pressurizes the Blue HYD system, which then powers the emergency elec generator

A

Smoke Detectors in the avionics ventilation ducting detecting particles

Amber FAULT lights in the EXTRACT and BLOWER pb on the VENTILATION Panel

If you select GEN 1 LINE pb to OFF, what happens?

A

GEN 1 Line Contactor opens (White OFF Light Illuminates)
AC BUS 1 will be powered via the Bus Tie Contactors
GEN 1 will still power 1 fuel pump directly in each wing tank.
