Timeline of the Essex’s rebllion

A

1) Essex took 4 of Queen’s privy councillors hostage and with 200 followers marched to his London house with them
2) Cecil responded quickly- labelled Essex as a traitor and many of rebels abandoned the march
3) essex returned to his house where hostages had been released by supporters who abandoned his cause
4) Essex and his remaining supports= arrested
