France keeps Calais but if England keeps peace french can give Calais back or pay £125,000.
Also ended frances wars with italy meaning that france was now more of a threat to Phillip so he wouldnt focus on england as much

Sent English ships to Firth of forth to blok french ships
Feb 1560 Treaty of Berwick with Scotland Lords of Congregation to remove french troops together.
Also stated that they were not allied to france anymore than MQS and any forts english captured would be destroyed.
How did the war end??
English failed a seige of Leith
French retreat was forced and a storm really damaged their fleet. Mary of Guise died and francis II died.
This meant MQS influence in Scotland gone and protestants were dominant in scotland. Especially due to the treaty of Edinburgh 1560.
What was the next FP issue?
1562 - France is having a civil war. Earl of Leicster persudes Lix to try and weaken France.
Prince of Conde promised 6000 men and £30,000 loan.
Le harve given to the English as collateral.
Calais didnt help it hurts that they lost and they want it back. Prince of Conde was key hugenot leader and general.
What was the result of Lizs actions??
Backed the wrong horse.
Hugenot was defeated and captured. French were united and captured Le havre.

Leads to Liz being a lot more cautious during other FP desicions. She also reconsiges the problems of supporting rebels against a legitimate monarch.
