Q

How did the marriage to Franncis II threaten liz??

A

Mary, Queen of Scots, married Francis II of France in 1558, making her Queen of France when he ascended the throne.
This threatened Elizabeth because France was a Catholic power that did not recognize Elizabeth’s legitimacy as Queen of England.
Mary had a strong claim to the English throne (as the granddaughter of Henry VII’s daughter Margaret), and French support could have been used to press this claim. Died

How did the marriage to Darnley threaten liz??

A

He also had a claim to the throne which meant him and marys claims were both bolstered. If they had a child then this would have had an even stronger claim. He had catholic sympathies. Murdered.
