Electrical Flashcards
If AC BUS 1 fails, will the AC ESS BUS remain powered?
Yes
If AC BUS 1 fails, which bus supplies the AC ESS BUS?
AC BUS 2
What is indicated by a FAULT light in the GEN pb?
- The associated generator control unit (GCU) trips, or
- The line contactor opens (except if GEN pushbutton is selected OFF)
What does a BAT OFF light represent?
- Battery charger limiter is not operating
- OFF light illuminates if the DC BATT BUS is powered
- HOT BUSes remain powered
What does the green EXT PWR AVAIL light indicate?
External power is connected to the airplane and is good.
Extinguishes if ON is illuminated or if the external power is disconnected.
What does the blue EXT PWR ON light indicate?
External power is connected (supplying power) to the electric system
What does the battery charger limiter automatically control?
When the BAT 1 and 2 are selected on
Connection and the disconnection of the corresponding battery to the DC BAT BUS (by closing and opening of the battery line contactor).
What does a BAT FAULT light represent?
-Comes on amber, accompanied by an ECAM caution, when the charging current for the corresponding battery is outside limits. In this case the battery contactor opens.
What does the AC ESS FEED FAULT light represent?
AC ESS BUS is not powered
What does a FAULT light in the IDG 2 pb represent?
High oil temperature / Low oil pressure
During a One Engine Taxi:
- Which GEN is powering AC BUS 1?
- AC BUS 2?
- AC BUS 1: GEN 1
- AC BUS 2: APU (Via Bus Tie)
Refer to the panel below: The aircraft is parked at the gate following a single engine taxi. What electrical source(s) are supplying AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2? [GEN 1 pb: dark APU GEN pb: dark BUS TIE pb: dark EXT PWR pb: ON GEN 2 pb: FAULT]
- GEN 1 powers AC BUS 1
- EXT PWR powers AC BUS 2
What does the smoke light in the GEN 2 Line pb indicate?
Smoke is detected in the avionics ventilation duct
What occurs when the GEN 1 LINE pb is selected OFF?
- GEN 1 line contractor opens
- AC BUS 1 channel supplied from GEN 2 through the bus tie contactors
- Seperate circuit is energized from GEN 1 to supply power to one fuel pump in the main tank
What is indicated by a RAT and EMER GEN FAULT light?
EMER GEN is not supplying power when AC BUS 1 and AC BUS 2 are not powered
