You see a flashing Amber OPEN light next to the Cockpit Door Switch (with the associated aural alarm). What does this mean?
Someone in the cabin has started an emergency access procedure.
With the EMER EXIT LT switch in the ARM position, what causes the emergency lighting system to illuminate?
Exit signs, overhead emergency lighting, and proximity emergency escape path marking system illuminate with loss of normal electrical power. Excessive cabin altitude illuminates exit signs.
With the STROBE switch in AUTO when do the strobe lights operate?
When airborne
With the LAND switches selected OFF, what is the status of the landing lights?
Extinguishes the landing light, but leaves it extended.
Which lights illuminate with the EMER EXIT LT selected ON?
Overhead emergency lights, EXIT signs, and floor proximity emergency escape path marking system are illuminated.
What happens to the nose wheel response to tiller input as ground speed increases?
Maximum deflection angle is decreased.
What does a FAULT light in the TERR pb mean?
Illuminated amber with ECAM caution if terrain detection function fails. The basic GPWS modes 1-5 are still operative.
What will occur if the TERR PB is selected OFF?
Inhibits the database terrain detection function, and keeps the basic GPWS modes 1-5 operative.
What does the GPWS SYS FAULT light indicate?
Illuminates amber with ECAM caution to indicate a mode(s) malfunction.
What is inhibited when the G/S MODE pb is selected OFF?
Inhibits the descent below glideslope caution (GPWS mode 5)
What will occur if you select the FLAP MODE push button OFF?
Flap mode 4 is inhibited. This will inhibit the Trailing Edge Flap “Too Low Flaps” warning for all trailing edge flaps settings.
What occurs when the LDG FLAP 3 pb is selected ON?
- Flap Mode 4 is inhibited when FLAPS CONF 3 is selected to avoid Trailing Edge Flaps “Too Low Flaps” warning for Trailing Edge Flaps Full only.
- LDG MEMO displays “FLAPS……3” instead of “CONF……FULL”
Do we receive an ECAM notification when the SMOKE light illuminates and aural alert annunciate?
No, because this system is aftermarket.
What does the RACK POWER SMOKE light and associated aural alert indicate?
The system detects smoke in the Aft Avionics Compartment.
If the SMOKE light in the RACK POWER illuminates and the associated aural alert is present; would you expect to see an associated ECAM?
No, because the system is aftermarket.
If an Emergency access is initiated, how much time do you have to select “LOCK” in order to prevent unauthorized access to the flight deck?
30 Seconds
