What Happen when you connect the GPU?
Closes the Power Relay connecting Starter Generator to the respective Main Bus
What amperage and voltage should the GPU be set to?
800 to 1000 amps and 28V with a continuous supply of 300 to 400 amps
What is happening when you connect the GPU?
Charge the Battery
What is the voltage required to start the Aircraft
24V
What are the battery starting limits?
3 starts per hour
3 generator assisted starts is equal to 1 Battery start (ie: 1 x XGen Start is equal to 1/3 of a battery start.
At what N2 % does the start cycle end?
38% N2
How do you know the current limiter is blown?
Compare left and right bus voltage.
If one side is significantly different, it could be due to an open current limiter.
What will happen if the current limiter is blown?
The battery disable relay open the battery relay.
The high amperage then only flows through the HBB from the operating generator to augment the battery during the start.
What is the maximum amperage output of the generators?
450 Amps for 5 minutes
What do you do if you lose DC Power?
Shed loads and go to the checklist.
What is the Battery over-temp procedure?
- Note Amperage
- Battery Switch to Emergency
- Amperage, note the decrease
How do you perform the Inverter test?
Trip the respective inverter simulating a DC power failure. You will get a AC annunciation light along with Inverter Fail light 1 or 2.
The failure of either inverter triggers and AC Fail.
Reset the master warning will extinguish the AC Fail annunciator unless both inverter lights are illuminated.
Do this to both inverters individually to simulate the DC failure.
What happens when you select inverter 1 ?
The Inverter FAIL annunciator light will come on along with AC Fail Light.
