Elbow / Test 3 Flashcards
elbow flexion is accompanied by blank and blank
adduction/varus
elbow extension is accompanied by natural blank
valgus/abduction
dislocations/subluxations often have a blank moi, present with a blank, and may have blank and blank involvement
foosh, deformity, neural, vascular
moi that is a combination of axial compression, valgus stress, and supination forces producing rotation at the humeroulnar joint
posterolateral rotary instability
medial elbow pain often accompanied by a pop
valgus instability
difficulty gripping, wrist flexion pain, pain with finger extension
lateral tendonitis
more females get blank than men
lateral epicondylitis
rapid eccentric load in biceps can cause blank
biceps tendon rupture
anterior elbow pain, weakness of thumb
pronator syndrome - median nerve
inability to make ok sign and negative compression at pronator border
median nerve - anterior interosseous syndrome
deep ache along lateral epicondyle, pain at brachioradialis, resisted supination pain, wrist flexion pain
radial tunnel syndrome
no sensory loss, thumb extension produces pain at lateral epicondyle, weakness of extensor digits
radial nerve posterior interosseous syndrome
insidious onset and in older people, males>females, repetitive use
osteoarthritis
5 Ps
pain, pallor, pain with passive stretch of muscle, parasthesia, pulselessness
inflammation of bursal sac covering olecranon, may be an infection instead
olecranon bursitis
