Elbow Flashcards
Humeroradial - contact increases with
FLEXION
Normal carrying angle
10 to 15 degrees
Strongest elbow flexor
BRACHIALIS!
MCL tear/reconstruction uses what
Palmaris longus
Extensor hallicus longus tendon
Valgus/Varus stress tests done with elbow in
20 degrees of flexion
Annular ligament
Resists lateral subluxation of radius
Nursemaid elbow = stretch annular ligament out because of distraction of prox RU joint
Lateral epicondylitis
wrist EXTENSORS (innervated by radial)
usually ECRB
Positive coffee cup sign (pain with ext, rad dev)
Tennis
Special tests for lateral epicondylitis
Mills! (pronation, flexion, uln dev)
Maudleys! resist ext of middle finger distal to PIP (stressing extensor digitorum)
Medial epicondylitis
wrist FLEXORS (innervated by median) Stretch them with medial epicondylitis test - supination, wrist and elbow ext with radial deviation
Golf
Median nerve tests
Pronator teres test
Pinch grip test
Ulnar nerve tests
Tinels at cubital tunnel
Wartenburgs sign
