Q

What are Advantages of radar imaging over optical instruments?

A

Radar imaging is unaffected by weather, cloud or fog, or the lack of sunlight. It can produce high-quality images in all conditions and at all times.

[UNAFFECTED BY WEATHER,FOG]

Q

What is PSLV?

A

-four-stage expendable medium-lift launch vehicle designed [FOUR STAGE LAUNCH VEHICLE]
- main objective is to launch low earth orbit satellites, PSLV can also launch small size satellites into Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO).
[WHY? :TO LAUNCH LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE ;ALSO IN GEOSTATIONARY ORBIT]
TRICK : LOW EARTH ORBIT(L-E-O) & GEOSTATIONARY (GEO) -> LEO GEO
-third generation launch vehicle of India [3RD GEN]
- first Indian launch vehicle to be equipped with liquid stages. Stage 2 (Vikas Engine) and stage 4 of the satellite use liquid fuels while the first and third stage use solid fuels. [1ST TO HAVE LIQUID STAGES I.E. USE LIQUID FUEL IN 2ND & 4TH STAGE]
