Q

When should fenofibrate be initiated for elevated triglycerides?

A

Not all patients with elevated triglycerides require fenofibrate initially. Patients with a triglyceride level greater than 10 mmol/L may be started on fenofibrate to avoid the risk of complications secondary to hypertriglyceridemia.
